ASEDIE celebrated the V Seminar on Data Protection for its associates.

Due to the dates and general interest, the day was held online to update information, exchange opinions and resolve doubts about data protection regulations and the issues that, concerning this topic, affect our Sector. Updated information regarding the most relevant regulatory developments was made available to our associates. After the presentations made by Olga Quirós, general secretary of ASEDIE, the session was carried out by Legal Commission president, Casilda Lazcano, accompanied by Pablo Pascual, vice president of the said Commission.

It has been an opportunity to discuss, examine, and explore different guidelines and regulations that coexist and are directly related to data protection, that affect the development of our associates' business. On this occasion, among other topics, the following were discussed:

• News presented by the Spanish Data Protection Agency in the UIMP (Melendez Pelayo International University) summer course under the motto 'Challenges for data protection at the current time'

• Updates on telecommunications regulations, specifically related to art. 66.1 of the telecommunications law,  

• The most relevant points of the latest circular 1/2023, June 26, on the application of article 66.1.b) of Law 11/2022, June 28, General Telecommunications published by the AEPD,

• The situation of actions taken by the association in regards to the possibility of reviewing or making changes to the personal data protection and telecommunications regulations.

These Conferences are an opportunity to promote collaboration between all actors in our sector, so that our Associates can share doubts, knowledge and experiences related to data protection and constitute another example of ASEDIE's good practices, fulfilling the commitments acquired since we began to work on the Infomediary Sector Code of Conduct.
