ASEDIE held the VII Data Protection Seminar for its associates. As in recent years, the seminar was held online to update information, exchange opinions and resolve doubts about the personal data protection regulations and everything they cover.

The opening was carried out by Olga Quirós, ASEDIE’s general secretary, and the session was led by the Legal Commission president, Casilda Lazcano, who gave a comprehensive presentation of the current situation.

On this occasion, the seminar focused on the latest actions carried out by ASEDIE in matters related to personal data protection and a rundown of the recently held UIMP summer course organised by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) “New challenges for the protection of rights of people in the face of the impact of the Internet.”

The sanctioning activity at the European and national level regarding data protection was analysed, and the main documents of interest from both the AEPD and the European Data Protection Committee (CEPD) were commented, among which that relating to guidance on treatments that incorporate Wi-Fi tracking technology or that are related to the collection of neuro data. Finally, reference was made to the main legal challenges that currently exist in data protection, as well as the latest developments provided in the recent course organised by the AEPD.

These seminars are an opportunity to promote collaboration, where ASEDIE’s associates can share doubts, knowledge, and experiences related to personal data protection, they also act as an example of ASEDIE's good practices, complying with the commitments acquired since we began to work on the Infomediary Sector Code of Conduct.
